ODAEducation for All: Japan's Action

In Japan, the Education for all Programme of UNESCO is actively supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

Japan supports a variety of UNESCO's EFA activities through contributions to the Japanese Trust Fund for the Capacity-building of Human Resources and the Trust Fund for Education for All, which have been established within UNESCO, the leading organization for EFA. In Fiscal Year 2005 Japan contributed US$4.175 million to the Japanese Trust Fund for the Capacity-building of Human Resources, and US$944,000 to the Trust Fund for Education for All.
