16 January 2025: New Year's reception in honour of the UNESCO Japanese staff

On 16 January, a New Year reception in honour of the UNESCO Japanese staff was held at the Residence of the Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of Japan to UNESCO.
Ambassador Kano wished the guests all the best for the New Year and expressed his wish to strengthen cooperation between the Japanese staff and the Permanent Delegation of Japan to UNESCO. Ms Fumiko Ohinata, Chief of Programme Management Unit, Living Heritage Entity in the Culture Sector, also took the floor on behalf of the Japanese staff of UNESCO.
Many Japanese people work in various fields of the UNESCO Secretariat, drawing on their own experience and expertise. During the reception, a useful exchange of views took place in a friendly atmosphere.
The delegation will continue to support Japanese staff working for UNESCO.
