23 April 2025: Opening Ceremony of "Creative Travel to Japan 2025"

On 23 April, the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition "Creative Travel to Japan 2025" was held at the UNESCO House in Paris, in the presence of Mr YAMASHITA Makoto, Governor of Nara Prefecture, and Mr Xing QU, Deputy Director-General of UNESCO. The Exhibition is co-organised by the Creative Travel to Japan International Cultural Exchange Committee and the Permanent Delegation of Japan to UNESCO.
After opening speeches by Mr MATSUURA Koichiro, President of the Executive Committee (8th Director-General of UNESCO) and Ambassador Kano, Governor Yamashita presented the rich culture of Nara Prefecture from various perspectives, including world heritage sites and food and drink culture. Mr Xing QU, Deputy Director-General of UNESCO, also delivered a speech on behalf of the Director-General of UNESCO.
The 6th edition of "Creative Travel to Japan" is being held at the UNESCO House, Pas Perdu Hall, until 6 May, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy all that Nara Prefecture has to offer.
As part of the exhibition, the Miró Hall will also host the World Peace Art Exhibition 2025, under the patronage of the Permanent Delegation of Japan to UNESCO. This exhibition features a number of works by Japanese artists on the theme of peace, as well as a special exhibition by Mr TODOROKI Shuto, an Art Brut artist based in Paris.
