24 November 2025: Participation of Ambassador Kano in the Grand Egyptian Museum Opening Event

On November 24, Ambassador Kano attended the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) Opening Event held at UNESCO Headquarters, organized by the NGO “Friends of Egyptian Museums Worldwide” and the Permanent Delegation of Egypt to UENSCO. Officially opened on November 1, the Museum was built through the support of the Japanese Government via JICA, including yen loan assistance for construction costs and technical cooperation such as the dispatch of experts and training programs.
In his speech, Ambassador Kano mentioned the Japanese Government’s support, noting that the protection and preservation of culture contribute to provide people with dignity, in addition to a positive impact on development through tourism, emphasizing the importance of cultural support in developing countries.
In addition, the Delegation of Japan hosted a cocktail reception following the event, which provided an opportunity for participants to exchange and discuss the topic.
