1 October 2026: Kura Master award-winning Japanese alcohol testing reception

 On October 1, Ambassador Kano hosted a tasting reception at his Residence for sake, honkaku shochu, and Japanese wine and liquors that won awards in various categories at the 10th Kura Master Competition. In addition to Mr. MONJI Kenjiro, Honorary President of Kura Master Association and its staff, representatives from the award-winning breweries also participated from Japan, providing an opportunity for guests, including UNESCO Secretariat and Ambassadors from various countries' Delegations to UNESCO, to discover Japanese alcoholic beverages. Furthermore, in collaboration with “Fromagerie de Passy”, pairing between French artisanal cheese and Japanese sake were presented.
 
 In his speech, Ambassador Kano touched upon Japan's election as a committee member of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in June this year, stating his commitment to passing on the world's diverse Intangible Cultural Heritage to future generations.
