14 March 2024: Japan's emergency assistance to Gaza through UNESCO

The Government of Japan has now decided to contribute USD 100,000 to UNESCO for its emergency assistance to Gaza. This cooperation aims to provide vital mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in the field of education for learners.
The Government of Japan will continue to make persistent and proactive diplomatic efforts to urge all parties to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and calm down the situation as soon as possible. The Permanent Delegation of Japan to UNESCO will also work closely with UNESCO to ensure that this assistance will help the people of Gaza to return to a peaceful life with dignity as soon as possible.
