9 April 2024: Lunch with Association Kura Master

On April 9, His Excellency Mr KANO Takehiro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Delegate of Japan to UNESCO, hosted at his residence a lunch with Association Kura Master, which is organizing in France annual concours of Japanese sake, honkaku shochu, awamori (distilled spirit originally produced in Okinawa) and umeshu (Japanese plum wine).
The Permanent Delegation of Japan to UNESCO is promoting the "Traditional knowledge and skills of sake-making with koji mold in Japan" for their inscription on the Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage during the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage to be held in Asunción (Paraguay) in December.
The Delegation will continue to pursue this path in partnership with the private sector so that as many people as possible can discover the charms of Japanese sake culture.
